To conclude, all my organs are square.
………In the pantry, pasta elbows and crackers form
Right angles. I write lists of things already done, so that I may
………Pen in the little boxes. I sharpen edges like swords to
Cut the corners off stars, but when you came I lost
………Horizontal and Vertical at the same time.
All my rulers skipped from seven to nine without apology, and of the
………Boxes in my mind, yours was the only one without a label.
I cannot yet spell you right, but from afar,
……….I pinch you between my forefinger and thumb
Preferring to believe you fit neatly in my pocket,
………Like a button.
